No All-Day Kindergarten at New Elementary

No All Day Kindergarten class planned at the new

Elementary School on 34^th & Santa Fe

We have been re-zoned into the new Elementary School at 34^th Street & Santa Fe. As of right now they are not planning to have an all day Kindergarten class. Currently 14 out of 21 of the Elementary Schools in this district have all day Kindergarten, some of them more than one.

If you want to have an all day Kindergarten class as an option in the new school, contact the below Administration Personnel and let them know.

2010 Annual Meeting

Our annual HOA meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb 2 @ 7:00 p.m. at Freewill Church just south of our edition on Santa Fe. The annual budget will be discussed and there will be a question and answer session. A new HOA Board member will also be elected. If you are interested in joining the board and have some questions regarding roles, etc… give me a call.

Christmas Lights

The HOA would like to thank all of those who have done such a great job decorating homes in the neighborhood. The HOA has ordered some lighted garland that should be up by this weekend. Sorry for the delay, but we were waiting to make sure the electrcal outlets could be installed in time for this Christmas season.

Trick or Treating

Norman is encouraging its citizens to observe trick or treating on Friday, October 30. Our neighborhood is obviously in Oklahoma City, but you may have some kids come by on Friday since we are so close to Norman. Have a great halloween and try to save some candy for the children.

Trashcan Reminders

As a reminder, the covenants require the trash recepticles to be maintained out of view from the street. I have noticed more and more violations on this issue over the last few weeks.

Flags

The builders have removed the flags from the entrances in response to requests from many of the homeowners. They may reappear from time to time when the builders have shows, etc…, however they will no longer be up year round.

I have started to notice more and more trashcans being seen from the street. Please remember, this is a violation of the covenants. The Board will be going around in the next couple of weeks to notify those in violation. Please do your part as we try to keep the appearance of our neighborhood at a high level. Thanks! If you have any questions about this or any other covenant issue, do not hesitate to contact a board member.

Yard of the Month

The board plans to start a yard of the month club that runs from May thru the end of Summer.

Dues letters should be dropped in your box this weekend with the information regarding payments, mailing address, etc…

The dues are $150 this year and are due by March 31. Thank you for your cooperation in paying these on time.

Happy New Year and Welcome to the Talavera Homeowner’s Association Website. I want to encourage all residents to explore and utilize this new website. As you will see, there is a message board for residents to communicate and post announcements, concerns, etc…

It is my goal for the website to also be a source of information for the residents for not only neighborhood events, but also information and events regarding our community. I am open to suggestions regarding information that residents would find useful to be added to the website.

Once again, welcome to our new website and I am excited about the upcoming year.
